Mattsson and Chamas were not able to win on Sunday at GGPoker

This past weekend at GGPoker, both Simon Mattsson and Rayan “Beriuzy” Chamas came within a whisker of winning their respective events. Even though Mattsson and Chamas didn’t win the tournament, they still added $71,022 and $89,225, respectively, to their GGPoker bankrolls.
The $400,000 guarantee for this weekend’s $1,050 Sunday High Rollers Main Event was crushed by $118,000. Due to the enormous pot, eight of the nine finalists received payouts in the five-figure range.
Gediminas Uselis, a Lithuanian poker pro residing in Mexico, finished ninth and won $9,471 before busting out, while Eduardo “srjtdyfgukh” Silva finished eighth and won $12,629. For Simon Lofberg, the tournament ended in seventh place with a check for $16,842. The $840 Omaholic Hundred Stack HR, which Lofberg won, was worth $22,078.
With Boris Kolev’s ($22,459) unexpected death, the remaining six were reduced to five. Only three players remained after the elimination of “Memukul” ($29,950) and “felipecv” ($39,939), and they were a formidable trio.
After New Zealander Joshua McCully busted in third place for $53,259, defending champion Mattsson faced “o moises” of Brazil in a heads-up match. The Brazilian won the one-on-one match against Mattsson, earning $94,710 and leaving Mattsson with $71,022.

Briski Wins the High Stakes Event at the GGMasters
The $1,050 GGMasters High Rollers event’s guarantee was also crushed, this time by 838 players who amassed a pot of $838,000, well exceeding the guarantee of $750,000. The winner made six figures, while eight other finalists made five figures, from an initial investment of $1,050.
The first player to be eliminated from the final table was Hong Kong’s “fpdhd,” who finished in ninth place and took home $12,889. Before Vincent “PANDA DRAGON” Lam burst in fifth place for $38,951, he was joined by Christoph “EBERHARTER” Erbler ($17,004), “caroso” ($22,415), and “Root Beer” ($29,549).
Pavels Spirins of Latvia finished in fourth place and earned $51,347, while “schlafenderMann” of Uzbekistan placed third and earned $67,686.
As for Chamas and Istvan, Briski won a heads-up match and the majority of the prize money after saying, “Wohooooooooo.” In the end, Briski won the head-to-head match, turning his $1,050 investment into $117,618. Chamas finished in second place and earned $89,225 as a result.

This weekend, “Myloveis” won the $525 Bounty Hunters HR Main Event for $102,541, making him the only other GGPoker player to earn more than $100,000 from a single event.
